The Benefits of Meditation

Meditating is well documented as an effective method of stress management. The practice of relaxation and clearing your mind greatly reduces stress and its effects on the nervous system, such as tension and many other problems that flare up during stressful moments. The breathing techniques associated with meditation have also proven to calm anxiety, stop and prevent asthma attacks and further reduce stress.

Hackensack meditation seminarThe Exploring Meditation Seminar will be conducted by Mark Van Buren, a certified meditation instructor local to the area. He founded "Stress Free New Jersey" and has lectured about stress reduction techniques and meditation at several high schools and colleges.  Additionally, he founded "Meditation in Action," a meditating group at Montclair State University in 2009, while he worked on his bachelor's degree in Religious Studies.

While our chiropractors, Dr. Angel Carrion and Dr. Lisa Noto-Carrion, will help you with physical rehabilitation from conditions like sciatica, back pain, hip pain and shoulder pain, Mark Van Buren's Seminar will help you with mental relaxation. We believe that meditation is a great supplement to your chiropractic therapy and welcome all patients interested in learning how to meditate improving their meditation ability to this Seminar. More and more health benefits of meditation are being proven by science as researchers continue to study this practice.
